It was some emails that was 'ding-dong-ing' around and somehow we ended up wanting to go to Sushi Tei again because we can still get the 20% because two of us had the Sushi Tei card and it was our birthday month. Jiang Nan Salmon Rice

Singapore

kensongs writes: Being a fan of salmon teriyaki, I was delighted when I found out that this cze char stall at Hougang by the name of Jiang Nan has salmon rice set.Reasonably priced at $5, the salmon rice set comes with plain rice, fried egg and grilled salmon pieces. Expertly grilled to a crispy consistency on the outside, the tasty salmon is topped with mouthwatering teriyaki sauce which accentuates its irresistable flavour.Besides salmon rice set, Jiang Nan also has a wide variety of cze char dishes which I will certainly return to try someday.7.5/10Jiang Nan SeafoodBlk 681 Hougang Ave 8#01-853... read more

Forget Me Not
Lyrical Lemongrass writes: Forget Me Not My birthday celebrations officially ended on Sunday, the 28th of September 2008 (a little over a month after the actual day), at about the same time that Felipe Massa of Ferrari drove off from the pitstop with a length of hose trailing behind him, with a very stunned mechanic at the end of it, but hey, who was I to complain about the very rude and untimely interruption to my homecooked birthday dinner?  Mmmm….delicious prawns, Mum….tell me the secret of this lovely pork dish…..whooooosh….hey….where’s everyone?  Hello?  Seriously, Massa could have chosen a better time to pull that stunt.  I insist on a replay.  Of ... read more

Dôme @ Dempsey Hill

Singapore

keropok man writes: Last week, a few of our friends (which included our 'gorilla' friend) met for dinner. After dinner we adjourned to Dempsey Hill because 'gorilla' wanted to have Ben & Jerry ice cream there. When we walked into B&J, we could not find a sitting place there. It was so packed and noisy, because the live band was there. We decided to walk over to Dome instead. We could get seats for 4 almost immediately and it was quiet. :-)This branch looks particularly beautiful and stylish! Doesn't it look so English country like?Anyway, those who could sleep after drinking caffeine ordered ... read more

ROC Pizza: Almost like Cheese N Crackers!

Singapore

ieat writes: 12 inch Pizza $8Following up on my Hawkerpreneurs at Golden Mile Food Centre story, here is another young Hawkerpreneur that is trying to burst into the food scene by offering Cafe style food at hawker prices. If you are hungering for your pizza fix but don't want to spend more than $8 on your meal, this might be just what you are looking for.The pizzas here are probably the thinnest and crispiest in Singapore. It is almost like eating "Jatz" crackers with tomato and cheese. The toppings are also modest, you get your basic ham, chicken sausage, mushrooms, pineapple ... read more

Away in the USA

Malaysia

boo_licious writes: No more Ramadan posts for the year, as I am currently away this week - in the Midwest USA. Had a long grueling flight here....imagine sitting down for almost 24 hours and 4 planes! It is good to be back in the USA, I just realised when I did my visa application, it has been 8 long years since I last visited in Dallas, Texas. Since it is mainly a work trip, that gets priority first. However we get the evenings off, so there is some flexibility to search for food. I plan to start blogging on old entries this week, as I still have Internet connection all the way. Uploaded the pictures before I left, ... read more

Review: Good Old Days Restaurant

Malaysia

GOD - Good Old Days
babe_kl writes: **Non-Halal**Last week, a group of us went to Restaurant Good Old Days (Kao Zhen Zi) for a gathering. Yozora recommended this place since AhJoy's sister took her there once. She said Good Old Days is part of Pantai/Unique Seafood chain. When I reached there, I couldm't help but noticed the 3 gigantic wheels spinning away. They actually made up to form a water fountain. On the ground, you'll notice some decor... ermmm a bit haphazardly but nevertheless it's rather interesting to find an animal pen with pigs and cow inside; ponies; olden days stove ... read more
