Palak Paneer
keropok man writes: This is the Indian food that the rest ate while I ate the burger at Bar Bar Black Sheep. I am not sure of the name of the stall at all. This was what XLB, Kenny (the friend from KL) that Nic went to order. The rest of us, just conveniently ate some of it! The Palak Paneer. It's Spinach and Cottage Cheese. The colour is a bit different from the usual ones, but the taste is similar. If you never tried it, we always think the cheese taste like the hard toufu (tau kwa) that the Chinese usually have.  ;-)...

Smoki'Inn Frogz / Bar Bar Black Sheep
keropok man writes: The last time I was here, it was the year 2008! A friend from KL was visiting. He's in the photo if you can spot him. LOL.. Many say it is the best around. I think it's just one of the better than average around. It is just 'a little cheaper' compared to the shops around this area. No need to mention the name, it's just down the road. :-p The home made beef burger. I think it's $12. Yes, it's the old style buns where many of ...

Kim Choo Kueh Chang
keropok man writes: Our aunt came over and brought us a box of Chang last night. She said it's very nice, it's from Kim Choo Kueh Chang, the peranakan bak chang. When we opened the box, we saw 6 tiny cute changs inside. It's the mini changs that sells for 80 cents each. We were tempted! We seldom eat supper, but we decided to heat them up! 3 littles ones to try. The strings are so colourful!...

Ice Cream Kingdom @ Holland Grove Road
keropok man writes: Oh.. it's hot and it's another ice cream outing? This was an ice cream treat after dinner with some friends on Saturday night. We had burgers for dinner at Bukit Timah Road and we drove over to Henry Park Apartments to try out ice cream at Ice Cream Kingdom that Brad recommended. That's our friend from KL, Kenny posing with his V. Nic tried to be funny. He saw the words Low Sugar, Low Fat, No Eggs and straight away put up the sign. They are taking ...

Perfect for the warm season now..
keropok man writes: How's the weather at where you are now? These few weeks in Singapore, the weather has been 'too warm'. I have been showering like up to 4 times on most days. The air conditioning at home used to be set at 25 Celsius, but the last few weeks it has been 24 Celsius because it is not cool enough. (The utility bill for these few months would be a shocking!) With such warm weather, you can guess where we have been going to! Ice cream places! These are some of the scoops of ice cream we had at The Daily Scoop. Two of my favourite flavours. ;-P (I don't need to name them by now!)...

Noodle Place Special Congee (zhao pai zhou)
keropok man writes: A colleague buzzed all of us, saying let's go to Noodle Place Restaurant for lunch! Let's go there to have the noodles! The former Executive Chef of Mak's Noodles (HK), Chef Chui is now handling the kitchen here. Guess what? When we sat down, while looking through the menu, none of us ordered the noodles! We were more attracted to the Congee! This is the Noodle Place Special Congee (Zhao Pai Zhou) at $9.90. Yes, all of us ordered the same thing. I think it was 6 big bowls ...

Chef Judy Koh from Creative Culinaire
keropok man writes: Thanks to Julia of AromaCookery.com for inviting me to be her partner to the Discovery Travel and Living Cake Decorating session. A new television show - "Cake Boss" airs tonight on Discovery Travel and Living at 7 pm. To help promote the show, the PR folks at Discovery invited members of the media and some bloggers to a Cake Decorating Session. (The bloggers could bring a guest, and I went as Julia's guest). The cake decorating session was held last night at Creative Culinaire. We had Chef Judy Koh as the demonstrator, teaching us how to decorate cakes....

Sushi Tei
keropok man writes: It has been a long time since we ate at Sushi Tei at Holland Village. They have moved to the 'windmill building' for sometime and I have not gone into this new location. What made us eat here? I had a $10 sushi tei voucher that was expiring on 28 Feb, so that very last day, we had dinner there. The queue was so so long! Some photos of the food we ate: The days and nights are so warm, so I am eating the cold ramen - Hiyashi Chuka.  I love the fresh crab inside. (Oops, hidden behind in this photo)...

Ikea Salmon Yu Sheng
keropok man writes: This was dinner at Ikea Restaurant @ Alexandra. If you are a Ikea Friends Card member, you would most probably have this postcard from them giving you specially discounted "Swedish Meatballs"  or "Poached Salmon" dishes. Yes, that's the reason why we are at Ikea. What a coincidence too. We saw uncle and family there too. They bought us a try of the Ikea Sashimi Yusheng. It's probably the cheapest yusheng you can get in Singapore. It's only $5! ;-) It's not very big, overall not very tasty. But the thing that made you want to pay $5 is the salmon sashimi. The salmon's not salmon belly, but OK lah! One reason it was not as ...

shayray punjab @ Holland Village
keropok man writes: There's always to tell why we go to different places to eat. Why are we here today? 1. An ex-colleague is back from US visiting us and joining us for lunch. (The famous brand with purple corporate color and HQ is at Sunnyvale. Can you guess which company?) 2. The boss is organizing this whole lunch. (and says he is paying for it. haha) 3. We saw outside the restaurant there's a 40% off ala-carte menu. 4. Friday used to be our Indian food day. We love Indian food. 5. Our two other colleagues who does not take Indian food's on leave too. 5 reasons should be enough right? Reason number 3 is the best of all!...
