vkeong writes: Waroeng Penyet Restaurant serves Traditional Indonesian Food and can be found at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara. It is a relatively new restaurant, considering the fact that it was opened last year by 4 Indonesians living in Singapore. I came to know about the restaurant through their flyers while shopping at The Curve few weeks ago. Then I remembered a friend, who told me about a good Indonesian restaurant that serves really good fried chickens, which happened to be Waroeng Penyet. Waroeng Penyet’s mascot is a cute looking chicken that really catches people’s attention lol. But the location at The Curve is not ... read more

vkeong writes: Last weekend, I was invited by Coca to their restaurant for a steamboat buffet dinner for 2 adults worth RM78++ per pax. In return, I will write a review for them. It was the first time I was personally invited by a Marketing Manager to do a review on a restaurant. So, how could I reject the invitation? To be honest, it was an honor and who wouldn’t want a free buffet lol. Although this can be considered a paid (via free food) restaurant review, I will not be biased. If it’s good, then it’s good and vice versa. The restaurant is clean, ... read more

vkeong writes: There’s a famous Indian Rojak @ Pasembur stall in Kepong that draws long queues as soon as the stall starts selling. It doesn’t even have a name! So, I had to see it to believe it. Pasembur is also known as Malaysian Indian Salad. It usually consists of shredded cucumber, bean sprouts (taugeh), beancurd (tau fu), prawn fritters, hard boiled egg, potatoes or yam and sotong. The preparation is very simple.. just chop all the ingredients, mix them up and serve with the sweet and spicy nutty sauce. We had two plates and another to take away and it cost RM11.50. I can’t work out the exact price ... read more

vkeong writes: I finally managed to earn my first $100 with Google Adsense after nearly 3 years of blogging! I think for most bloggers, earning the first Adsense cheque from Google is what they would want to achieve the most. Thank you Google! Based on current Ringgit-US Dollar exchange rate, it’s only RM300++.. maybe even less after all the transaction fees. I sure missed the old days when 1USD = RM3.80! Although there are many alternatives to Google Adsense like Nuffnang and Advertlets.. I will stick to Google Adsense no matter what. Anyway, I plan ... read more

vkeong writes: I had a dim sum buffet for brunch last weekend in Janbo Restaurant. Janbo has a few branches but the one I went is located in Seri Petaling. I think Janbo’s dim sum buffet is quite cheap for RM13.50 per pax. Although it’s buffet concept, the dim sum is not placed at a designated spot for customers to retrieve. Instead, you place your order at the table to the waiters. There are 40 items to choose from the menu which includes dim sum either steamed or fried, noodles, porridge and dessert. ... read more

vkeong writes: CAFF prides itself as the first Italian Fusion Restaurant in Puchong with their very own “Open-Kitchen”. This means that you can actually see the chef in action preparing your ordered food. Nothing is hidden and it draws the customers closer to the kitchen. CAFF serves a combination of Italian, Asian and Western menu to cater for local taste buds. Hence, the fusion concept. Established in 2005, CAFF serves mainly Pasta, Pizza and grilled food. I came to know CAFF through 8TV’s Hochak and the Oven Baked Escargot (snail) featured in the show gave me a deep impression on the restaurant. The restaurant had a promotion going ... read more

vkeong writes: Today is the 31st. So, Baskin Robbins is giving out 31% discounts on hand-packed ice creams! Went to Alamanda Putrajaya earlier this afternoon to get hold of the great offer. We had a pint (350gm) of Baskin Robbins ice cream consisting of Chocolate Mousse Royale and Jamoca Almond Fudge flavors. My favorite flavor Peanut Butter ‘n Chocolate was finished Just FYI on the flavors we chose, taken from Baskin Robbins’ website: Jamoca® Almond Fudge - We combine our Jamoca® (coffee) ice cream with a chocolate fudge ribbon and roasted almonds for a combination that’s been a classic... read more

vkeong writes: This mee goreng stall along Gurney Drive is a recommendation based on RasaRasa.net’s Penang Food guide book. I don’t have a copy of the book though, it was borrowed from a friend. Referred as “Penang Famous Edgecumbe Road Mee Rebus/Mee Goreng“, I just had to seek out this stall and see how much truth the claim holds. Well, to be honest this mee goreng sucks, not nice at all! Since it was recommended by a popular food guide, I had quite high expectations. But the noodles turned out bland tasting.. so bland it’s almost tasteless! Simply find a mamak stall also can ... read more

Citrawarna is an annual event showcasing Malaysian arts, traditions and culture via performances, dances and music. The event has always been shown on live telecast but I have never imagined myself catching it live in Putrajaya. Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib and Tourism Minister Datuk Azalina Othman were among the VVIPs present. Mahathir Lokman and Cheryl Samad were the MC for the evening and they were working together great as a team. Armed with a camera and tripod, I hoped to capture some photos of the most colourful event in Malaysia.... read more

vkeong writes: I have only tasted Haagen Dazs‘ ice cream once! And the very reason I got to eat at Haagen Dazs is because my brother got an unexpected bonus for his good performance at work. To be honest, Haagen Dazs’ ice cream is really expensive and it is not something I’d eat very often. Even a single scoop cost like RM9 already. We do buy a pint of Haagen Dazs ice cream once in a while. But my mom and sister would finish it before I could even have a spoon lol. And since it was my brother’s treat, we chose to have the chocolate fondue!... read more
