P. Chong writes: The Copper Chimney...a name which brings back memories of Mumbai for me. Situated in between the city and the airport along the only road connecting the downtown Nariman Point area to the airport area, this restaurant was a godsent for the tiring journeys as one traveses the city going from hotel to meetings and vice versa. The food was wonderful, the ambience quiet and restful. Lovely.I was surprised when I saw the same name in the CBD of Singapore recently. Just right smack at road level of UIC Building. The first thing you will notice is the large number of Indians eating at the restaurant. This is a good sign, me thot. Kin, who had eaten there before ...

We moved on to Pak Putra’s Restoran which famous for their Tandoori Chicken and fluffy Nan bread. Most of the staff are from the punjabi race from their slang. The restaurant is located down the road from Hajjah Mona’s restaurant which about 300 meters away. The chicken is marinated in yogurt and seasoned with tandoori masala. It is moderately hot, but the heat is reduced in most Western nations. Cayenne pepper, red chili powder or kashmiri red chilli powder is used to give it a fiery red hue. ...

Daniel Hung writes: Its not hard to find places for afternoon tea in Singapore. Besides hotel lounges, we have the almost-everywhere Starbucks and TCC, or the more upmarket ones like Royal Copenhagen and Canele. And I just found out that Provence Cafe has pretty good sandwich sets too! Located at Ion Orchard, this was their 2nd sit-in cafe after their original outlet at Holland Village, though they have a few other Petit Provence branches for speedy takeaways. Ordering was fast food-like: queueing at counters while browsing the wall menu, taking a number as you wait for the food to be delivered. Service was polite and courteous as ...

SimpleGirl writes: Friends told us that food at Lite Desire is cooked without MSG, the food is more like home cook style. Another friend who is a vegetarian said that they have vegetarian menu at Lite Desire, he highly recommended me to check this place out.Located at level 1 in De Garden, this is not located at a strategic location, it is above PappaRich, and opposite Bohemia boutique. We ordered one pot of ginkgo tea and another pot of lotus Logan tea. The lotus Logan tea was really great, naturally sweetened, whereas ginkgo tea was normal only. They have other variety of flower tea here as well. ...
fatpig writes: The choice of our team dinner was Cherry Garden, the flagship Chinese restaurant of Oriental Hotel. Having dined there twice before, I was more enamored by its intricately oriental design than the food (most unfortunately!). However, having said that, I was hopeful that Cherry Garden could/would spring a few surprises. After all, it did make it to the list of Singapore's Best Restaurants a couple of years back. A short disclaimer applies here as I didn't do the ordering nor did I have a chance to take a look at the set menu which we ordered, hence I am quite hazy about the exact names of the dishes....
