Wilson Ng writes: Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Center – ARGENTINA One of the best hotel I stayed in Argentina, the  Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Center. At almost the heart of the city, Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel overlooks at the famous Plaza San Martin. This is where I stayed when I touched down in Argentina. It looks grand from far. We paraded our 4×4worldexplorer.com 4×4 cars at the lobby of the hotel. There were quite a number of curious onlookers took the pictures of the cars. The lobby is huge. Well, the great thing is that they speak fluent English. WIFI is only free only at lobby area and they do have tables ...

J2Kfm writes: To seek for some of the best in traditional Chinese cuisine in Kuala Lumpur may take some considerable effort, especially if one’s right in the midst of the Eating Hub of Malaysia, with an amalgam of influences all over the world. You get everything from Western to Eastern fares, from street foods to posh (read [...]

qwazymonkey writes: You could probably tell from the lack of new posts or twitter updates that I've been rather busy of late. For the last couple of week, work has been excruciating and tiresome. I hardly have time to shit, let alone update this blog. I apologize for not being able to supply you with your weekly dose of monkey comics. However, despite my hectic schedule, I managed to take some time off and participated Cumi&Ciki's Japanesey Friday contest while taking a breather off work. And just before I could scream "F.M.L!", I got a message from Ciki telling me that I've won and I was to keep my weekend free to claim my prize. But as luck would have it, ...

Sweet & Sour Pork
ladyironchef writes: I am determined to find the best sweet and sour pork in Singapore, and it may seem strange that I’m looking for it at Holland Village Fish Head Bee Hoon – the zi char place famous for their XO Fish Head Bee Hoon and San Lou Hor Fun. Having grown up in Holland Drive, my family always ate at the coffee shop whenever my mother did not cook. There used to be a Western food stall which had very good chicken chop, but it had since relocated to somewhere else a couple of years ago. Other than that, everyone else came for the famous Holland Village Fish Head Bee Hoon....

thenomadGourmand writes: Last week’s turbulent state of affairs (work-wise & privately) left me in the doldrums for a while. Though it was nothing in the region of life & death, the whole episode got me reflective, both on the past (NEVER a good thing) and sat me down hard to re-look at the company I keep. To cut a long tale short, a valuable lesson was learnt, (sadly the hard way), some suspicions confirmed (I’m freaking glad!) & the answer to a very important question of  “should I or should I not” was determined. This week, I shall set forth with positivity & bask in the warmth of the genuine support that I received from the few genuine people that matters (you know who you ...

Glenn writes: Private Affairs has a Sunday Brunch, that is available from 11.30 to 3.30pm. Priced from $68++/$30++ per adult/child below 12, the brunch allows for a single order of main course, and an unlimited flow of appetizers and desserts. An additional $50++, gives you free flow of house sparkling, red and white wine or $15++ for free flow of juices and soft drinks. Rather than just a complimentary bread platter, three tiers of ‘fill-me-ups’ was served. On the first tier were a Creamy Yogurt topped with Berry Espuma and a Strawberry & Raisin Museli. I much preferred the Museli though! On the 2nd tier, A platter of Banana & Walnut ...

myfoodsirens writes: Le Bistrot is a casual French bistro that’s known for its service-with-no-pretences, and equally unpretentious food. The kitchen is helmed by Chef Lee, who has trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, and the cuisine is on the classic/traditional side with a modern twist to it. Menu is prix fixe, meaning it’s fixed prices for either a two ($50++)- or a three-course ($60++) meal and it’s the same menu/price for lunch and dinner. Ala carte is available ($18++ for entree/dessert, $40++ for main) but it doesn’t make sense (at least, to me) to order ala carte since the prix fixe menu is definitely more value for money. Kir Royal ($16.50++)...

Justin Daniel Pereira writes: I can’t believe I actually queued for 25minutes for a plate of chicken rice! Ok fine, while my queue at Ippudo Ramen was slightly longer (at about 45 minutes), this is still after all chicken rice, at a coffeeshop. But if you follow the old adage that all good things come with a wait, then it is most certain that this particular dish whipped up by the stall (Bugis St) Ming Kee Chicken Rice is well worth it. ...

550ml jar of faith writes: Organised retail is a tough call. On one hand, our heinous traffic/public transport conundrum presents a commercial case for the ongoing erection of these mercenary all-in-one monoliths. But sticking in air-conditioning and opening the shutters are hardly sufficient to convert window shoppers to serious ones, given the stiff competition and growing disdain for these hastily built but ultimately malfunctioning edifices. Zouk Cafe & Bar at the Gardens in Mid Valley is an example of an outlet with failed potential given the captive traffic who work in the vicinity and starved for choice to wind down on a Friday evening. ...
