babe_kl writes: Can you guess what is this???Sorry, I know it looked very gross especially under such lousy lighting with my camphone. Hehehe... it's actually Ngap Keuk Pau, literally translated as duck feet wrap. Hahaha sounded grosser huh??? I doubt the younger generations would have any inklings to this item which is usually found at roast duck stalls in Petaling Street.Last Friday, I went along with Yozora to Petaling Street. She wanted to grab some char siew (bbq pork) to make loh mai kai for her miow-miow. Whilst waiting for the Auntie to chop up the char siew and siew ... read more

babe_kl writes: **Non-Halal**In between our rides at the theme park, we hurried off for a quick dinner instead of going to our regular place. Not so sure what to have we decided to head over to Highlands Hotel to check out the eating places since hubby didn't want to walk so far to First World. Found this Restoran Good Friends Express since I didn't want to wait and order dishes from the restaurant under the same name next door. This Good Friends Express is a self-service fast food restaurant ala Chinese. All you need to do is place your order and pay at the cashier. Then you move down the line to collect your order. The menu is ... read more

teckiee writes: KONG HEI FATT CHOY! HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!...I know it's late, but better late than never ;pThis year is my second time not going back to my Dad's hometown for the Chinese New Year Eve reunion dinner. Things have been busy at home, this, that, so we had a small and simple dinner with the whole family. Mom, Dad, Bro, Sis, me ... and a family friend. Everyone was still working or studying on the CNY eve, so we all had little time to prepare for dinner. I told my mom about the Pun Choy dinner that I missed, so this year for CNY eve dinner, she prepared her ... read more

Lyrical Lemongrass writes: When I first saw The HSS’ pictures of Latest Recipe, I cursed. No, no, it wasn’t an imaginary curse. I sent him an SMS with some colourful language. Firstly, I was jealous of his pictures, and secondly, I wasn’t there. (Commercial break: This dude takes FABULOUS pictures. I have an altar for him in my garden where my pet frog, Tom, lives. Tom worships him too. End of commercial.) So when I received an invitation to dine at Latest Recipe, I didn’t give two hoots whether The HSS was invited. I was going, baby, and I was going to taste some of that gorgeous psychedelic teppanyaki ice cream which ... read more

team bsg writes: Bidor is a mini town off the North-South Highway and a popular stop for transit travellers on R & D ( Recharge & Discharge ) before the last lap to Pangkor Island. Here you can pick up quite a variety of the famed chicken biscuits, fresh mountain produce , organic , genuine or otherwise ( petai , durians and some other fruits like the seedless guava & red jambu ).There is a particularly interesting and extremely busy restaurant called Pun Chun getting all the limelight. This is the one with the the large family crowds outside (getting hassled ), inside(begging for the lost wanton mee or the aphrodisiacal brown duck ) and beyond (Q-ing to let-go).... read more

vkeong writes: Everytime I go to Queensbay, food is a problem. They are either fast food only or too expensive for a normal meal. Then there are those which are nice and reasonable but often too packed making the waiting time unbearable. Luckily Shanghai Ding Tai Feng and Max Gourmet Restaurant are available within walking distance from Queensbay. You should really try the restaurants along the road leading to Queensbay, they are pretty good for me so far. Parking is expensive as they are privatized but you can always park in Queensbay for RM1 per entry, ha! Max Gourmet mainly focuses on dim sum and HK-style food. My choice ... read more

teckiee writes: Sunrises really early in Borobudur. We had to wake up at 4.45am for the 5.30am sunrise. But... hahahahaha we didn't manage to wake on time. We did climb Borobudur again at 7am. Then came back down for breakfast.Breakfast was provided by Manohara Hotel. A simple American breakfast. The croissant was horrible. Anyway, we left Borobudur at 10.30am and only arrived at Losmen Setia Kawan at 12noon. I totally dig the guest house! Love the walls and paintings by Bedhots. The place and rooms were well maintained and very clean. A backpackers heaven. (Ok la, maybe no hot water but... it's so HOT already!)... read more
