boo_licious writes: just opened but packed with peopleNotice how we seem to follow Singapore in terms of food trends. Not sure why we are always the follower versus the leader. One fine example is the newly opened Pasta de Gohan, a spin off from Pasta de Waraku from Singapore. A well established chain of restaurants in Singapore, this outlet at Sunway Pyramid, just opened their doors on 9 May, 2008.take your pick from the row of plastic plates of pastaFor their opening ceremony, they advertised a special promotion for the 9 May, 2008, which involves a 100% rebate in terms of ... read more

boo_licious writes: hubba bubba - the shrimp has now landed in MalaysiaAlthough this place just opened a few weeks ago, the blogosphere seems flooded with reviews already. I'm kinda not surprised as it was super packed on Saturday, when we dined there. We scored a pretty good seat inside since we were early but I did spy loads of people dining outside on the deck.Gosh...it is huge!Located just above The Gourmet House at the Curve, the restaurant occupies two floors, with a souvenir shop at the side. Loads of Forrest Gump memorabilia is displayed on the walls, tables and everywhere else - we sat just at ... read more

boo_licious writes: Sizzling goodnessIt has been a while since we dined at Formosa hence with the long break, we finally managed to sit down for a meal there. This time round, we sampled a few of their new dishes, which were amazing as always. Apologies for the less than perfect pictures as my camera still has an issue with yellow light and low light situations. Definitely time to upgrade the camera. Any sponsors?Go away! UC - Uncle Chili
babe_kl writes: Not to be mistaken with the other Uncle Chili's at PJ Hilton, this Uncle Chili is located at the basement of Amcorp Mall. It basically serves local dishes especially Chinese style dishes and best of all it's halal. The last I went there with my clients, they ran the place from a double shoplot but now they have expanded. I've tasted their Chinese dishes and find they're delicious. This time we ordered single portion meal instead since it was just the two of us. Hubby ordered his usual nasi lemak (RM5.50). I tasted the nasi lemak and find the sambal ... read more

Jaya Palace Restaurant

Malaysia

teckiee writes: I no longer have to travel down to Imbi for Imbi Palace because they have (not so) recently open a new branch in Asia Jaya area! Wee!It was Chinese New Year, and also my Dad's birthday when I brought them here for dinner. Dad always says that he is up for anything, but I know he prefers Chinese compared to other cuisines. Started off with the appetizer, ikan bilis (anchovies), long beans, and sweet potatoes, all together. Sweet and spicy. Pan fried vegetables with scallops. I like the way they have prepared the vegetables, the celery, Enoki mushrooms and Macadamia nuts were fried until ... read more

boo_licious writes: After hearing about this place, I finally got to try it one Saturday. Usually, when we're running errands around Petaling Jaya State, I'll grab a quick snack from the mini egg tart stall. This time round, the stall was not around. Not sure if he has closed down permanently or closed for the Chinese New Year period (some hawkers take off after the festive season as they don't rest during that time).Anyway, I decided to try the wantan noodles. Heard a lot about it from friends. A small portion costs RM4, with a few pieces of char siu and two small wantans. The noodle texture is nice - chewy ... read more
